This is the changelog for DigitalBull GO: The world’s most comprehensive local SEO audit tool! We plan to upgrade our robust and one-of-a-kind local SEO product on a monthly basis. In this post, we have listed all the additions, removals, and changes that have been released by our team for the month of April 2020.
DigitalBull GO Local SEO Audit Tool Now DIY
You’ve heard about our enhancements in our services, but we have a surprise on the product front, too!
Yes, if you thought that we were resting on our laurels, you are wrong.
Our development team has been hard at work completely reconfiguring and rebuilding the audit feature in DigitalBull GO to make it Audit to Rank.
Our local SEO audit is now a completely do it yourself (DIY) tool!
Why did we do this?
The previous version of the audit tool (Analyzer) could only be used by the DigitalBull GO Team (DFY). We had several inquiries in the past asking us whether we would be willing to license the tool in a SaaS model or DIY.
A major impediment to converting the Analyzer to a self-service mode was the huge list of factors that need to be audited. We felt that the process would be tiresome and users would soon give up and flirt with other audit tools that promised quicker automated results.
The audit functionality worked by changing the audit results into insights via Chart.js. We used a Google Sheets/Excel/CSV to JSON converter. Our DigitalBull GO child algo and parent algo were then applied to the audit input to depict it as a line graph.
The problem with this was the inability to show dynamic changes via new audit and any audit upgrades done would mean that we would have to completely unroot the CSV to JSON conversion.
However, after much tinkering, trial, and error, we succeeded!
Why is this important?
Unlike other audits, the beauty of DigitalBull GO’s audit and insights is that it mirrors the rankings of the Google Map Pack by comparing the user’s GMB vs. the top 3 on the Map Pack, similar to how Page Optimizer Pro, Surfer SEO, and Cora operate for on-page SEO.
Our team is constantly evaluating the results and tweaking the child and parent algorithms accordingly to be in sync with Google’s algorithm changes.
For example, Google made large-scale changes to how it would review the photos feature on the GMB.
This is a hint to us that photos are an area that Google is looking at very closely and we would accordingly tweak the weightage given to photos upwards by a couple of points.
When COVID-19 hit, Google announced changes to Q&A and Reviews, and we modified our audit algo accordingly.
Likewise with any new features added by Google or other major algorithmic updates, including the recent heavy focus on content.
What are the major upgrades in the DIY tool?
1. Simplifies the audit process by converting all answers to a binary yes or no.
2. The audit is now done on the DigitalBull GO tool itself as against the Google Sheets process.
3. Can be done in a self-serve environment, thus realizing a long-pending wish of some of our clients
4. Still the leader in Google My Business audit with additional focus on E-A-T and lessons from 100+ audits closely mirroring Google’s results by >75%.
With this, we are ticking some of the wishlist boxes that our early adopters had hoped would be in the roadmap:
- DIY/SaaS model
- Audit can now be done by your VA or assistant
- Easy to use and understand
This will sharply reduce the turnaround time for audits besides having a stronger connection between our audit and optimization.
